Interactive Design Definition

Interactive design is about the behavior of products, with how products work effectively. Interactive design follows a task centered design approach ensuring the flow of the interaction as the central goal. Basic principles of cognitive psychology provide grounding for interactive design as it is the audiences understanding of the design that needs to be achieved to have a successful design. Interaction design has great emphasis on user goals and experience; the design is evaluated in terms of usability and affective influence. With the fundamentals drawn from software engineering, interactive has come a long way and has lead to many practitioners such as animators, graphic designers and film industry specialists.
